Severely damaged

The book came with the spine busted off of the book. Even though it said it was in “good” condition. I am very disappointed

Perfect condition

I read cc on my kindle and absolutely loved it, i decided for a re-read but wanted a physical copy. I took a whim and got a hardcover copy and its perfect 🥰

Terrible

This book is terrible. It shouldn't take 200 pages into a book for it to still lack in world-building. I also hated the main character, for reasons I'll exclude for the fact that I don't want to spoil anything for others.

The Ending Gets You

I have to say, at first I did not think I would get into this. First few chapters the modern setting with cell phones, social media, but also werewolves and faeries weirded me out. But then the plot showed up after a bit and it kept me on the hook until the very end. And oh my gosh, I am so glad I hung in because the ending was the best part, and it needed all of that build up to be so good. I even got into the world building, this strange modern fantasy with a mishmash of every fictional species you've ever heard of has me hooked. There was one big writing/character choice that really irritated me, but even as much as it bothered me I still immediately dove into the sequel because it's so suspenseful, I have to know what happens next. This is a long book, with a longer sequel and more to come, and I'm actually excited for them. I don't know how Sarah J. Maas did this to me, but she did.

Wonderful

I Just Happened To Read The Sample Of This When It First Came Out And I Couldn't Not Get The Book. I Went The Next Day And Picked It Up. I Usually Find It Hard To Get Into This Type Of Genre, But My Goodness. I Flew Through This. I Couldn't Put It Down. It Had Some Raw Moments That Really Brought The Tears On. She Did Such A Great Job. I, Of Course, Pre-Ordered The Second Book. I Can't Wait To See How It Plays Out.

Like experiencing everything for the first time at twice the sensitivity.

I already like Maas, so I was already excited to read the beginning of her new series. However, I was not expecting to pick up a book that made me feel, see, and smell so many things like I was actually in that universe. This is by far her best work in world building, character building, and overall plot development. House of Earth and Blood might very well be the first book that has pulled at me so emotionally that I physically cried and cheered with the characters. This is what writing should be. Well done Maas.
