What the heck, very disappointed

This book is going to be a TV series, I do not know why. I heard the buzz about this book and looked forward to reading it. I was a bit concerned early on because the writing was a bit too flowery for my taste but I was determined to give it a chance. Unfortunately, my fears were realized because it turned out that the storyline was in my opinion, ridiculous. The beginning of this OBG situation supposedly starts in the 1980's, and then what happens to the characters? I only liked one character in the book, the protagonist's best friend, but then what happened to her? It is as if the writer wanted to try to incorporate a lot of different genres in the story, social commentary, beauty tips, racial issues, science fiction and class. It did not work. I read that some compare this to "Get Out", please don't, THAT was excellent.

A little disappointed

Took me a second to get invested in this book, had a few good chapters that kept my attention but the ending fell flat left a lot of unanswered questions.
