Book Overview

"In Britney Spears's memoir, she's stronger than ever." --The New York Times The Woman in Me is a brave and astonishingly moving story about freedom, fame, motherhood, survival, faith, and hope. Poor Poor Britney

I think BS paints herself as a victim . I also think she tried to do some damage to her exes with the things she wrote. Her family may have been trying to protect her from herself and her serious mental illness. But they did appear to take some opportunities while they were at it.

Easy read but keeps you in

I was eager to read this to get Britney's side of the story. It is an easy read but a very good read. I found myself not wanting to put it down. It's just unbelieve how her family did what they did and how much suffering she went through during everything. At the end of the book, I found myself sad for her. It's a sad story and how really she never had a chance based on how her family is before she was even born. I am happy she is finding her own happiness and finally at a place now to make the changes she wants.

Didn't live up to the hype.

I assumed there would be more to the story. I feel badly that her family took advantage of her and she was controlled for so long. I however feel the book was a lot of her feeling bad for herself because she was passive and let it happened. It was a quick read, got through it in less than 2 days.

Lifelong Britney fan!

It was great to get the story from Britney’s perspective on what all she has been through. It was an easy read and I had a hard time putting it down. I was surprised at how many of the traumas that Britney has been through that I could identify with in this book, considering I’m not a record breaking female pop star. I’m truly happy that she made this book to set the record straight and clear up all the rumors and opinions that others have spoken on and published books about. I love how much she spoke about the realities of mental health struggles while enduring so much trauma and heartbreak at various times of her life. I was also excited to see that she’s been promoting the book herself through social media and opted out of big interviews and mainstream media attention… Considering the trauma these entities have caused her (which she details in the book) it’s no wonder she said “no thanks” and it honestly makes me want to promote and support her book even more.
